We are a Christian, independent, evangelical church that believes in the authority of the Bible for all of life. We affirm the historic Christian beliefs expressed in the Apostles Creed and the Nicene Creed. We also subscribe to the FIEC Doctrinal Basis.
We believe that every individual Christian is gifted to serve the local church. The work of church leaders is to oversee and encourage this work.
City Church Chelmsford is a plant from Danbury Mission Church. and both churches are led by a single team of elders who are responsible for the teaching, leading and pastoral care of the church.
Jimmie was born in Virginia, USA. Since finishing university, Jimmie has lived in the UK for more than ten years. After a year teaching he spent 6 years working for a church in the middle of England, where he met and married Ali. They spent 3 years in theological training in the USA before moving to Essex in 2018.
Jimmie and Ali have three children; Eliza (6),Rosa (4), and James (1). When they are not changing nappies, they love exploring the coastline of Essex and the eating their way around Chelmsford.
